(Ce) is a Pioneer in Canada’s Hip-Hop Dance scene. Cezar started as a Break-dancer back in 1984, started choreography shortly after, and has been mastering the art form ever since. Dancing professionally throughout Canada, his credits include being featured on MTV Canada, MuchMusic, and the Juno Awards, various TV commercials, and has performed as a back-up dancer for artists such as Coolio, Cece Peneston, SWV, Maestro Fresh Wes, and Kardinal Offishal.In 1990, Cezar began teaching in Winnipeg, then migrated to Vancouver in 1993. In 1999, he formed the original Fresh Groove dance team. Under his leadership, Fresh Groove were victorious in many dance competitions. When they dominated the Driven to Perform street-dance competition 3 years in a row (2002-2004) they gained bragging rights to the title of the “Pacific Northwest’s No.1 Dance Crew” In 2005, Cezar turned his dedication to teaching, and the Fresh Groove Productions was born.Cezar’s passion for dance and focus on mentoring students has now been highlighted on the world stage. Recently, his work has been seen during the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where he choreographed and produced music for the Hip-hop finale. Featured in that finale was his elite student group, who went on to wow Canada with their place in the finals of Canada’s Got Talent.
